(USA Today) - If there's a major event to be held, pictures to be taken and poses to be made, there's a very strong chance that Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel will be there (and that someone will write about it).
Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner, spent this weekend in New Orleans enjoying some of the pre-Mardi Gras festivities with a few friends-slash-SEC-rivals – like Mississippi linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche and LSU running back Jeremy Hill, two fall opponents turned offseason buddies.
Nkemdiche, the older brother of newly signed Mississippi recruit Robert Nkemdiche, the nation's top recruit during the 2013 cycle, posed for the above picture with a strange-hat-wearing Manziel.
"Started from bottom now we here OVO. Me and @jmanziel2 my Heisman brother! Mardi grassss!!!!!"
Manziel also snapped a picture with Nkemdiche, Hill and other friends, showing that when it comes to the offseason, there are no rivals. (Manziel and A&M barely sneaked past the Rebels on Oct. 6 before losing to the Tigers on Oct. 20.)
Manziel's the one with the yellow shirt, purple hat and two dozen beaded necklaces, including one with an A&M feel, as you can see.
A quick recap of Manziel's life since A&M capped its regular season on Nov. 24: Heisman Trophy, model girlfriend, once-in-a-generation bowl performance, courtside seat(s), Super Bowl, Mardi Gras. Spring ball starts in a month or so.
