This week, once again, we have and underwhelming number of album releases. What’s even more underwhelming than that? The album releaser is Kesha. (No, I will not put the little money symbol as the ‘s’. That is not a part of the alphabet.)
Her new album Warrior, has been in the works for 2 years. Word around the rumor mill says the hit songs on this album will be a great progression from the glitter infused singles of her past. She has had one single released from this album and if you have listened to the radio in the past 3 months, you know that it is, ‘Die Young.’ I must say, I do like that single more than, Blow or Tik Tok. I can’t say I’ll be downloading this album though, but I know there are Kesha found out there somewhere who will.
Next week, the album I’ve been waiting for all year comes out! It is none other than Bruno Mars’ Unorthodox Jukebox. It comes out December 11 and I can guarantee you, I will be downloading at midnight. Ever since his appearance as Host and Musical Guest on Saturday Night Live, the buzz around this album has been ridiculous. My friends and I don’t usually agree on music taste, but we are all on common ground for this one. There isn’t a place to preview the songs on the album just yet, but the only single released, Locked Out of Heaven, has been a God Send (Pun Intended) to the radio airwaves. I can’t help but bob my head and shake my booty to it and I can’t wait to hear what else is on this album. If I recommend one stocking stuffer this Christmas, It is Unorthodox Jukebox.
Well, that’s it for me this year. I am handing over the baton to a new intern who will start up in January. I’ve loved bringing you all of this mediocre music info every week, but all I can do now is wish you a Happy Holidays and hope you enjoy the albums I’ve mentions over the last few months. Don’t forget to introduce your grandparents to all the new rap/hip hop music out there, so they can look all hip and jiggy around all their old people friends.
