It all comes down to this week! The AFC playoff teams have all been decided, the only thing left to figure out is the seeding. The NFC playoff picture is a different story. The Falcons have clinched the #1 seed but after that, it’s wide open. The Redskins, Cowboys, Giants are all fighting for the NFC East and the Vikings and Bears are battling it out for the second wildcard spot (with the Redskins, if they lose to the Cowboys this Sunday). Let’s get this party started!
Jets at Bills (-3.5) – How can anybody bet on the Jets this season? I wouldn’t bet on them if they were getting 10 points at home. The end of the season can’t come soon enough for the J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!
Ravens (+3) at Bengals – After crushing the Giants last week, I think that the Ravens keep it rolling and pick up some momentum going into the playoffs.
Texans at Colts (+7) – The Texans have not looked very sharp the last three weeks even though they beat the Colts in week 15, and I’m not sure why they are a whole touchdown favorite. I hope I’m wrong, but I like the Colts.
Jaguars at Titans (-4) – Talk about a game that nobody cares about. I’m not even sure the players will show up for this one, much less the fans.
Browns at Steelers – No line as of 12/27 (But I like Pittsburgh)
Eagles at Giants (-7.5) – The Giants still have a slim chance to make the playoffs and it starts with them beating the lowly Eagles.
Buccaneers at Falcons – No line as of 12/27 (But I like Tamps Bay)
Bears at Lions (+3.5) – Some weeks the Lions play like the Super Bowl favorites, and some weeks they look like nobody has ever seen a football before. I think that the Lions D line shows up this week and crushes the Bears horrendous offensive line en route to a divisional win.
Panthers at Saints (-5.5) – This should be a high scoring affair, but that’s exactly what the Saints need. I like New Orleans fairly big in this one.
Dolphins (-10) at Patriots – By the time this game is played, the Patriots will know if they have a chance at getting the #1 seed or not. I think that the Texans will squeak out the win and the Patriots will have all of their starters on the bench by halftime in a game that becomes basically meaningless.
Packers at Vikings (+3.5) – I really like this Vikings team, especially in a must-win game in Minnesota.
Chiefs (+16) at Broncos – This game falls into the same category that the Patriots game falls into because it all hinges on how the Texans game turns out. Having stated that, this is one of the biggest lines I’ve ever seen and I can’t bring myself to take the Broncos, even if they are clearly superior.
Raiders at Chargers – No line as of 12/27 (But I like San Diego. Ugh.)
Cardinals (+16.5) at 49ers – Another one of these games with a monster line. The 49ers have looked very average some weeks this season, and I think that grabbing the points in this one is a smart bet.
Rams at Seahawks (-10.5) – Another big line, but I’m not betting against the Seahawks in Seattle. Ever.
Cowboys at Redskins (-3) – It’s about that time of the season for the Cowboys to send their fans into a severe depression after almost making the playoffs but falling just short again. And I can’t say that watching the Cowboys fans fail year in and year out makes me unhappy in the slightest. Redskins win this and officially ruin the Cowboys playoff chances.
