Post Spring Break Detox

Now that Spring Break has officially come to an end, it is time for us to give our bodies a break. If you are like me, over the break I ate poorly and drank more than I would during a normal week. If this is the case for you, no worries! It is never too late to treat your body to a detox that will help you lose weight, cleanse your body, and make you feel better all together. This detox is one that you can make on your own! It consists of fresh lemon juice, natural maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and water. Beyonce is a huge advocate for this cleanse. She was quoted saying "I lived on water, cayenne pepper and maple syrup for 14 days. It was tough; everyone was eating and I was dying." She reportedly lost 20 pounds in just 2 weeks! The only catch to this detox is that you cannot eat solids for the amount of time you are drinking this mixture.

The recipe for this detox:
2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon
2 tablespoons of natural maple syrup
1/10th of a teaspoon of cayenne pepper (you can add more or less of this for flavor)
8 ounces of water (can be hot or cold)

Mix those all together and you have your meals set for the days you choose to detox! It is recommended that you drink at least 6-8 glasses of this mixture per day. Drinking water in between your glasses of the cleanse is not mandatory but it is recommended. You can continue this detox for however long you would like. It is not recommended that you do this for longer than 14 days.

Although this is not a simple cleanse, you will see and feel results. If Beyonce can do it, we can all do it! And who wouldn't want to look like Beyonce! Best of luck!
