Cassadee Pope’s debut single, “Wasting All These Tears” from her full-length album with Republic Nashville released a couple weeks ago now and I absolutely love it. As I mentioned in a previous post here on MyCW8, “Music Recommendation: Cassadee Pope’s EP”, I watched Cassadee’s covers on YouTube and fell in love with her voice and musical style. Since her time on reality TV I have been listening to the soundtrack from the show, as well as her self-released EP, eagerly awaiting some new music. In my opinion, “Wasting All These Tears” was definitely worth the wait.
“Wasting All These Tears” is country-meets -rock break up song that will delight fans as well as long time followers from her Hey Monday days. The track is catchy, a bit edgy, and full of personality. Beginning with the line “I tried to find myself at the bottom of the bottle/ Laying down on the bathroom floor/” and building up to an unforgettable chorus, that will resonate with anyone who has been scorned by love, “You left me/ Standing on the corner crying/ feelin’ like a fool for tryin’/ I don’t even remember why I’m wasting all these tears on you”.
Cassadee Pope who is just beginning her journey as a country music artist and I am thrilled with the direction she is going thus far. Cassadee delivered a powerful debut single that I think will make a big impact on the country music charts, while still retaining her personality and unique vocal abilities.
Cassadee is currently on tour with Rascal Flatts, is set to begin filming her music video for “Wasting All These Tears”. To keep up with the latest on Cassdee’s music you can visit her website www.cassadeepope.com and follower her on Twitter: @cassadeepope
