Well football fans the time has finally arrived, Super Bowl Sunday is almost upon us! It’s time for millions of people to gather around the TV and tune in to one of the most epic games of the year. My favorite part about Super Bowl Sunday is not necessarily the football, but everything that is going on while the game is happening. Having a Super Bowl watch party is a must, what better way to enjoy the game than to be surrounded by family and friends?! I may not be a football expert, but I like to think I know how to throw a party, so here are a few musts when it comes to throwing a Super Bowl watch party.
First things first what it a party without people, this is the Super Bowl! Ok, so I know you might want to go balls to the wall and invite everyone from your Facebook page, but let’s be real now, you definitely need to take into consideration the amount of space you have at your place. The most frustrating part about going to a party is having no room to socialize and enjoy the reason that you came, especially when the half-time show comes on. I mean Beyonce is performing and there are A LOT of rumors that Destiny’s Child will surprise us with a performance, I make no promises on what might happen if they come on stage... I just want to have room to watch and get my dance on. Remember, having plenty of room to move around is a must.
On a side note do you possibly think that the girls will think we are ready for their jelly? I can only hope. Now to get back on track, just make sure you only invite enough people that your place can handle and make sure it is only people you like to be surrounded by, don’t want any unwanted tension in the house.
Now time for my favorite part of any party, food, that one word can mean so much when it comes to a party. If you don’t have some grub you might as well throw in the towel on your party planning skills. Now I am talking about good, greasy food: pizza, wings, bar-b-que, hot dogs, hamburgers, cheese dip, vegetable trays, fruit trays, cookies, brownies, ice cream and the list goes on and on. Be aware my party animals, you are not the only ones out there so if you are ordering any of these must have foods make sure you give yourself plenty of time for the food to arrive. Don’t want to have everyone there and no food, things could get awkward or in some cases ugly.
Alright time for the inevitable, alcohol. It's important to make sure that the only people drinking are of age. (21 and up guys) We don’t want any of that under-age drinking shenanigans going on! I think sometimes with parties like this it might be better to make it a BYOB party that way it can take the stress off of what everyone wants. If do decide you want to provide for everyone be sure to take a look at our section, Thirsty Thursday, for plenty of great ideas!
So of course everyone knows of the famous Super Bowl squares that fans like to participate in. I say it’s up to you! From experience they can definitely make parties more interesting so if you are feeling the inner dare devil in you surface then go for it! If not I am sure the party won’t suffer from it!
Last but certainly not least make sure all the equipment is good to go! You don’t want your guests showing up and then realizing that the TV is not working, I know it’s a long shot that that would happen, but it’s the Super Bowl people you need to take everything into consideration!
So these are just a few of the musts that I feel a Super Bowl party should have, I know everyone is different in their mad party planning skills, but these are the basics. Feel free to leave comments on how you like to spend your Super Bowl Sunday! Well I am out, enjoy the game my fellow party animals!
