(CBS News) Taylor Swift broke Billboard's digital songs chart record Wednesday when her hit "We Are Never Getting Back Together" had the biggest digital sales week ever by a female artist with 623,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
It also marks the country singer's first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song shot up from No. 72.
The 22-year-old singer tweeted about the news: "#1 on Billboard's Hot 100!!?! This has been the most amazing week. I can't believe how incredible you guys are. (Jumping up and down)"
"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" has fans guessing whether Swift wrote the song about one of her famous ex-boyfriends.
The track will appear on Swift's new album, "Red," due out Oct. 22.
Swift will perform a new song at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 6.
