Birmingham, Ala. -- The latest edition of the Bowl Championship Series standings was released on Sunday night, with Southeastern Conference teams Alabama and Florida leading the way. Seven SEC teams total are ranked in the BCS Top 25. View the full poll below.

SEC IN THE BCS STANDINGS NOTES

-- Five SEC teams have been ranked at least one week as the top team in the nation in the BCS standings during its history (33 total weeks) - Alabama (8 times -5th overall), Auburn (3 times) Florida (7 times - tied for 5th overall), LSU (10 times - 4th overall) and Tennessee (5 times).

-- Texas leads all schools in the BCS rankings, having been listed 96 times. Florida and Oklahoma are tied for second (87). LSU is sixth at 75 polls, while Georgia is 12th (63) and Tennessee 15th (52).

-- Here is a listing of the amount of times each SEC team has been ranked in the BCS Standings (using current conference alignment): Alabama (52), Arkansas (31), Auburn (45), Florida (87), Georgia (63), Kentucky (4), LSU (75), Ole Miss (9), Mississippi State (17), Missouri (32), South Carolina (27), Tennessee (52) and Texas A&M (32).

-- An SEC team has now been ranked first in 12 straight BCS rankings. The SEC has been 1-2 in 13 of the last 26 BCS rankings, dating back to the beginning of the 2009 season.
