Ladies, we all know it's a bit of a bummer when a holiday that isn’t recognized by work or school falls on a week day and unfortunately that’s exactly what is happening with Valentine’s Day this year! Most of us are busy doing our everyday routine with no time except the evening to actually celebrate. Many of us won’t have time to go home and completely get ready from scratch, and we don’t want to go the whole day super dolled up waiting for the evening to arrive.
So how do you add that extra sparkle to your look, without being over the top? My secret weapon, LASHES!
I believe everyone can achieve full, show-stopping eyelashes no matter if their naturally short or long with no falsies need. I also believe that when it comes to makeup, well done lashes are what set a good look apart from a great one. Everyone has their own unique way of applying eye shadow or eye liner that works for their specific eyes, so I don’t want to give a full eye makeup tutorial because I don’t believe one method looks great on everyone. However, I do think there is one method to make anyone’s eyelashes look fabulous.
I’m going to show you an easy way give your everyday makeup look a touch of glamour, perfect for special occasions such as Valentine’s Day. Whether going on a romantic date or going out with a group of all your single girlfriends, this is a tip you’ll love!
What we’re aiming for: Eyelashes that POP!
The real key to beautiful lashes is using two different mascaras. They don’t have to be designer or expensive brands either. In fact my personal favorites and the ones I use on my eyelashes can both be found at drugstores such as CVS, Walgreens, Target or Wal-Mart. You just want to make sure that one of the mascaras is made to separate, define and elongate your lashes, while the other mascara is made to add volume and thickness. The two I use are below:
Start by applying the mascara that is made for length and definition. A trick to remember when applying mascara is to apply it on both sides of your lashes; the side closest to your eyelid and the other side. Many only apply on one side and this ultimately takes away half of the dramatic effect you are trying to create. I like to create very dramatic lashes so I apply two coats of this mascara, but if you normally do not wear as much makeup or don’t want quite as dramatic of a look then you can stick with applying one coat.
In between coats make sure and separate your eyelashes so they look even and full. You can do this by using an eyelash comb.
Finish by applying the mascara that adds volume and thickness. Again remember to apply it on both sides of your lashes. Like the first mascara, I like to apply two coats of this mascara as well. But like I said before you can just apply one coat if you prefer.
Remember to keep separating your lashes so they don’t clump together and look like one big black blob. But still be generous! A tip to remember; wherever you put darkness is where emphasis is drawn to. We want your lashes to pop so don’t be afraid of layering. After these simple steps you’re all done!
You can add this in to your normal morning routine before you leave for work or school. Then when you come home all you’ll have to do is change clothes, maybe touch up your hair and you’ll be ready to go! Your face will already be ready for a fun night out. Lashes really do make all the difference. Now go enjoy your lashes of love!
