If a sorority house is good for anything, it is the prime place to watch your sisters and other sorority girls participate in the walk of shame up to the door.
I remember it like it was yesterday... a beautiful Saturday morning, I am enjoying a cup of coffee from the terrace of the sorority house and just as I am looking down the street at all of the little people I witness it. A girl with messy dark brown hair and chicken legs scamper out of a truck and up to the srat palace. It was my friend Olivia.
O was in prime form still dressed in a sparkly black mini dress carrying her hooker heels at 10 a.m. Her hair and makeup were an utter disaster! To top it all off she was wearing her latest hookups’ oversized plaid shirt.
I'm almost positive the lawn guys next door thought she was a high class hooker.
So, what does O do when she sees us shaking our heads at her? The hot mess drops her shoes and does the Dougie in the front yard right under our sacred letters. Not one bit of shame. Given she was still intoxicated when she walked through the front door, the girl had sass.
If there was anyone who knew how to do a walk of shame, it was Olivia. Occasionally she would steal fraternity shirts to give to us. By the end of four years O had maybe one hundred shaker shirts. I never knew how to feel about it... I was proud yet disgusted at the same time.
It's common to see girls, like Olivia, stumble up to their respectable houses in their wrinkled outfits from a long night of partying on Northgate.
The walk of shame is simple and it brings shame to the house the girls walk into. Word of advice, if you want to avoid accusing eyes and rumors, avoid the walk of shame at all time.
We’ll all be watching...
