Thirsty Thursday time! Easter weekend is upon us and I have just the drink to substitute for those long lost childhood Easter egg hunts. The Peep-tini!

1 ½ oz cherry vodka
½ oz triple sec
3 oz half and half or milk
Dash of grenadine

Rim a martini glass with some coconut flakes to start if you’d like! Mix all ingredients with ice well and serve in your festive martini glass. Garnish with Peeps! So cute!

Planning on hunting for Easter eggs on Sunday? Here’s something the adults can sip while doing so… if you’re brave enough!

Easter Egg-y Cocktail
2 oz Bourbon
1 oz cream
½ oz crème de cacao
½ oz egg white
1 scoop vanilla ice cream

Add the egg whites to a shaker and shake well before adding ice and the remaining ingredients. Mix together thoroughly and pour to enjoy! You can also garnish this drink with coconut and a Samoa Girl Scout cookie if you didn’t devour every box you bought already.

Easter is all about the sweets! This next recipe is a creative way to serve dessert after your Easter lunches or dinners.

Carrot Cake Dessert Shots
1 box of Betty Crocker carrot cake mix (or any carrot cake recipe)
1 can cream cheese frosting
2 cups pecans, chopped
1 frosting bag, frosting tip
Shot glasses/dessert bowls
Candied Carrots:
1 large carrot
¼ cup water
¼ cup sugar

Bake the carrot cake according to the instructions and allow to cool completely before cutting several 1 inch cubes of cake. Add the frosting into the frosting bag. Begin layering the shot glasses or bowls in the following order: pecans, cake, and frosting. Repeat this pattern ending with frosting and top with chopped pecans. The last step is to top with the candied carrots. Bring the sugar and water to a boil and add shredded carrots to the mixture. Reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes. Strain the carrots and place on wax paper until hard before chopping and adding to your dessert shot!
