Night on Northgate Trend

One of my favorite times to dress up is for a night out on the town. If there’s one time you can wear almost whatever you want and get away with it, it’s after dark. Especially when it comes to my night out obsession: showing skin.

Let me explain, I’m not saying walk around dressed like a Playboy Bunny (unless you are a Playboy Bunny), but it’s okay to live on the wild side. Like most scandalous fashion trends, it’s tricky, if you’re not careful you can easily go from cute, yet sexy to flat out slutty and trashy. Sorry to be so harsh, but this is one fad you have to be especially careful with! Just remember, balance is key! If you decide to show some skin in one place, keep it proportional by having the rest of your outfit conservative.

Here are my top 3 ways to show skin and keep it classy:

Crop Tops:

Pair your crop top with any high-waisted bottoms. If you show too much of your mid drift, your outfit could turn trashy.

Sheer:

I'm in love with sheer! Throw on a bandeau or if you're really brave go classic Carrie Bradshaw with a bra! I just got a lace bandeau from Urban Outfitters and I think I wore it Friday and Saturday night. It's awesome.

Cutouts:

When it comes to dresses and tops, cutouts are the way to go! It can take your little black dress up a notch, like this Sugar and Spice dress I found at Macy's.

What do you think? Will you try showing skin next time you're on Northgate?

If you have questions, let me know!
