Yes, It happened
Not much time has passed since we BTHO Alabama and it still feels like it’s all a dream. Texas A&M beat the No. 1 undefeated team in the nation! This time, we won’t have to suffer through the dreaded jokes about the ghost of halftime. Now, we get to look in the eyes of the people who didn’t believe in us and just shake our head, because A&M has arrived. The Aggie football team played one amazing game that I’m sure my grandkids will hear many stories about in future years.
Going into this game on Saturday, I had my doubts but I had a different confidence in our team. I thought to myself, “this could actually happen”. I lost my voice in the first quarter after our first three touchdowns, but it didn’t stop me from trying to scream. Right after halftime, I’m not sure I sat down or even took a breath.
I have to point out one thing that I absolutely loved. During the football game, I saw numerous Alabama players stop and help an Aggie up after a tackle. This takes true character to show us respect considering that Alabama never took the lead. A&M has gotten their fair share of jokes, but it really shows that the SEC is a family. I felt like Saturday’s game was one outstanding welcoming party.
There are so many positive things that have happened in result of our win. A&M moved up to No. 9 in the BCS Standings, Johnny Football has become a serious contender for the Heisman, and A&M is now a potential SEC elite team. My Aggie-hatin’ friends shut up real quick after this win and that is always a positive thing.
The moral of the story is that A&M deserves this more than any team I know of. We went to Tuscaloosa and just played a great game of football and we did it better than Alabama.
So, hello SEC…we’re here! A&M, give us room!
