On Friday, the line-up for Chilifest 2013 was released at The Tap. The line-up is as follows:
Friday, April 5:
• Brian Keane
• Uncle Lucius
• The Cadillac Black
• Gary P. Nunn
• Cody Johnson
• Jason Boland & The Stragglers
• Corey Smith
• Kevin Fowler
• Mark Chesnutt
• Aaron Watson
• Josh Turner (headliner)
I have been lucky enough to attend the exciting events of Chilifest for the last two years and can say that we have been spoiled with past line-ups. Some of my favorites like the Randy Rogers Band and the Josh Abbott Band have played and always put on a great show. I’m not quite confident that this year’s line-up will excite me as much as the past.
Now, don’t get me wrong – Chilifest is something I look forward to every year. If you were wondering, we have 74 days till it kicks off. Chilifest is always an unforgettable experience, regardless of the music. The line-up is just the icing on the cake.
What’s great about this event is that it isn’t just there so people can have a crazy weekend. Chilifest started in 1991 and has grown tremendously ever since. It was organized to help give back to local charities and help the community. So ultimately, it’s a win-win situation for Texas A&M students and the surrounding area. Patrons of Chilifest get to enjoy the fun atmosphere and know that their money is benefiting a higher cause.
I promise you that this won’t be the last you’ll hear from me about Chilifest. Once it gets closer, I’m going to share some of my favorite dos and don’ts of the weekend.
So let the preparation begin! To find out more information on signing up teams and the events held that weekend, go to www.chilifest.org.
Hope everyone enjoys his or her day off and happy Martin Luther King Day!
