We’re going to branch out a little from all of the makeup talk. Let’s talk about hair…curled hair, specifically.
There are many methods to getting the perfect curl; I’ll share some of my secrets on what works best for my hair.
First, dirty hair. Go a day or two without washing your hair, it helps it hold better. Another great trick is to use baby powder to help make your hair a little dirtier (without being gross). I like to use a baby powder that has gold glitter in it. Put some baby powder on a brush and pull it through your hair to evenly distribute it.
Second, I use hot rollers. Get a set of assorted sizes to add variety to your hair. Let them heat for about 20 minutes so they’re nice and hot.
Find a curling spray you like and apply it all over to give your curls a little extra help.
I tie one side of my hair back with a ponytail holder so I can focus on one side at a time. Then I section my hair off into 3 sections, bottom, middle and top. I start on the bottom section with the smallest rollers, then use the medium rollers on the middle section and the largest rollers on the top. Repeat on the opposite side.
I let them set for about 10 minutes before I start taking them out. I have my straightener heated so I can straighten the top portions without the top of my locks looking crunched from the rollers/clips. I straighten the lock individually, then use a light hairspray and move on to the next lock of hair.
Before you know it, you’ll have the perfect curls! If you use the baby powder, your curls might even last for days!
