Typically the process of a dinner date follows these steps:

Pick-up, Order, Eat, Talk, and Pay.

To be a better date, follow the guidelines/tips presented with each step of the dinner process.

Pick-up: Guys, open the car door. You should know this by now but for some reason many men continue to hold back. What is the worst thing that could happen? This small gesture will speak loudly about your future potential and your date will love it!

Order: The process of ordering allows us to learn so much more about you than how you like your steak cooked. The way you treat the wait staff, the financial price range you deem as reasonable, and your ability or inability to take control are all things that will become more clear to us after observing you order at dinner. This goes both ways for men and women. But guys, keep in mind that often times women want to respect you by not ordering an expensive meal or even the extra two dollar soda so if you don't make her feel 100% comfortable to get what she really wants then she will likely follow your lead.

Eat: You know you're hungry, so don't hold back when indulging in your meal. This being said, a guy or girl who has no appetite or eats as much as a baby bird will likely not be seen as very relatable or fun to be around. When sizing up a potential partner, pigging out together definitely needs to be an option! Ladies, don't talk about your diet or calorie count while at dinner. Body-image obsessed people can be a drag to be around especially when you're paying for their meal.

Talk: When it comes to the conversation throughout dinner, be sure to reciprocate your role of answering questions and asking them! One sided conversations are no fun when you want to both learn about your date but also share about yourself. Secondly, try to avoid reeling off questions interview style. You don't want to make a date more nerve-racking than it already is by creating too serious of an aura.

End/Pay: At the end of the date when the bill arrives, it is important for the guy to make it clear whether or not he intends to pay (he better pay on the first date). If the bill awkwardly sits in the middle of the table, then ladies are left questioning whether they should pay their way or offer some cash up. The more confident and concise you are with clearing the bill, the more comfortable your date will feel.

Good luck wining and dining!
