The Shopping List:
High-low skirts or dresses
It’s time for back to school shopping Ags! Ah yes, one of the best times of year, another excuse to go on a shopping spree. While you’re out getting ready for school, here are some items you might want to include on your list this season..
As each season approaches I tend to declare it’s my favorite season, because I get to wear (fill in the blank.) So as usual, I’m going to do it again, Fall is my favorite season because I get to wear boots. I’m seriously so happy that I’m smiling and staring at my boots now. Okay, anyway, obviously I’m going to say boots are a must have. On that note Uggs are a must give away, unless you promise to only wear them around the house. So what kind of boots should you have for Fall? Try a mid-calf, neutral pair you can wear to football games, casual Friday, and class.
If you’re an A and M student, looking for cute, comfort while in class. I suggest going to your local Target or Forever 21 and grabbing socks and leggings. Yes, sock and leggings. Although I can’t predict the future I have a strong feeling that over-the-knee socks will be a hit yet again. And of course you’ll need something to wear with your boots and socks, so stock up on plenty of leggings for class and lounging on the weekends. (Obviously I disagree with those who like to say that leggings are not pants, but if you agree, skinny jeans are another option.)
Since going topless is illegal, you’ll also need to get some big comfy pullovers to wear. I like to put on a salmon sweater I dug out from an Old Navy sale bin a few years ago or my Patagonia, but really you can get a pullover anywhere. My sister’s favorite is a green mid-zip one she got from Wal-Mart or her black Columbia from Academy. A collection of long sleeved Aggie shirts would also be an ideal part of your Fall Collection.
So now to step up your game. My suggestion, don’t spend your money on your class clothes, spend them on your going out clothes. For going out on the town you’ll need boots and heeled booties to wear with your jeans, skirts, and dresses. Also, colored jeans aren’t going anywhere soon, so try a fall color like hunter green or maroon. (Gap and Express have a great selection.) Personally, I’d go with maroon, because that can easily go with any game day outfit. For those chilly nights on Northgate stock up on tights, but this time try a print or if you’re really bold a color. If you’re not yet an owner of a “high-low” skirt or dress you will definitely want to seek one out!
Bandage skirts are back and another must have for Northgate evenings. I personally own one in black, red, light blue, and striped. I promise they all come in handy.
Now what to wear with your bottoms, prints and prints! I’m a fan of leopard print and stripes, but pick whatever makes you feel good. Like I always say, you’re expressing yourself through what you wear, so choose wisely.
Now that you know what you need, let me ask you a question! What is your favorite place to back to school shop in the Brazos Valley? I look forward to hearing your response, and don’t forget to check out our Pintrest for my Fashion Board!
