Almost everyone has a fashion icon they look to for inspiration. Ask many and you’ll hear names like Marilyn Monroe or Jackie Kennedy, maybe even Kim Kardashian (well, pre-Kayne West). But my fashion icon isn’t your average fashionista, actually she’s not even famous. My fashion icon is my 14 year old cousin Tristynn.
You’re all probably thinking I’m a tad crazy right now and wondering how I could look to my younger cousin for my fashion know how, but I promise she knows just how to work it. Tristynn proves just because you’re not living the lifestyles of the rich and famous, doesn’t mean you can’t dress to impress.
Now here’s what you can learn from my unexpected style hero.
Confidence is Key: What do Tristynn and Paris Hilton have in common? Every time they put on an outfit they make you believe it’s the hottest look there is. Seriously, she could put on footed PJs covered in cats chasing mice and I would want it. She does this through confidence. Honestly, this could be the most important aspect of pulling off a look. If you don’t feel good about it, then what makes you think anyone else will? So, no matter what be confident in what you decide to wear, even if it takes some extra effort like picking our your outfit ahead of time.
Be Trendy: Add a trend to your basics. This is easier than you think, the proof is in the picture! In this photo, Tristynn added some very cute ankle boots to her skinny jeans, a simple white t, and a comfortable jacket. These boots take her outfit to a whole other level.
Remain Fearless: I admire Tristynn, because she is absolutely fearless when it comes to everything, especially fashion. When you're trying the latest trends, you need to be fearless in two important ways. You can't be afraid to be the center of attention and you can't be afraid keep trying new looks until it works. Obviously, in this photo Tristynn was not scared of being the noticed, and I must say the bravery was worth it. How much do you want that dress right now?
Now tell me, who's your fashion icon?
