As the avid fashion lover and celebrity style enthusiast, I love keeping up fashion trends. So, I thought what better than to make a current trend list just for Aggieland! So let’s get it started, here’s to stay, what you should give away, and looks you should try now.

Trends to Stay:

Dark(er) Nail Polish: Possibly my favorite Fall/Winter trend. This fall instead of going for jet black stick with a dark blue, deep purple, or burgundy polish. My personal pick is O.P.I’s “I’m Suzi and I’m A Chocoholic!” It’s the perfect combo of chocolate and deep wine red, plus the color is excellent for any Aggie fan!

Fur Outerwear: I hope you didn’t get rid of last winter’s fur vest, because it’s back and better! Go bold with a jacket or keep it simple with the vest. Personally, I own two vests a winter white and a brown. Why? The vest looks good over almost any top and is a quick and easy way to bring your outfit to the next level!

Anything Leather: From jackets to pants, leather is here to stay. The easiest way to pull of this look is with a leather jacket that describes your style, then add your favorite jeans, and boots.

Red Lips: Please don’t let this trend go away ever! Red lips is the perfect way to take your look from boring to sexy in seconds.

Trends to Ditch:

The Hair Bow: I’m not quite sure how this all got started, but it’s definitely only okay if you’re below the age of 5. If you love hair accessories try a glamorous headband like Emma Stone and Charlize Theron.

Too Short Shorts: I thought that this went away when the Abercrombie and Hollister days came to an end, but obviously we all didn’t get the memo. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but not everyone wants see cheeks and pockets hanging out from the bottom of your shorts. Go for a high-waisted short to be on trend, but really... just make sure they fit.

The Bump It: Step away from the bump it and put down the hairspray. First of all, it's killing the ozone layer, and secondly it’s ridiculous looking. Yes us Texans like big hair, but it’s gotten out of control! A little volume is perfectly fine, but please avoid looking like Snooki.

Trends to Try:

The Top Knot: My favorite hairstyle of the moment. Don’t be afraid to try this, it’s look good on anyone and is easy to do on a bad hair day. You can do this when you’re lounging around the house, work, or a night out on Northgate.

Cute Cropped Jeans: Get fancy with pumps and some sparkle or keep it casual with flats and a sweater. Either way the cropped jean is an easy way to look fashionable, not to mention Taylor Swift’s obsession, and who doesn’t love some T-Swift style? (Tip: slightly cuff your skinnies to create the crop look without even buying new pants!)

Peplum Skirts, Shirts and Dresses: A bolder, yet completely do-able trend. A dress is most fitting for a formal event, but you can easily find a blouse or skirt that would be perfect for work or a evening having drinks. If you go with a shirt try it with your skinny jeans or a pencil skirt and pumps, but if you decide on the skirt keep the colors simple to prevent your look from being too overbearing.

This look can be found in Aggieland no problem, I found Peplum attire locally at Macy's!

Other trends to keep mind (mentioned in “Fall Must Haves for Aggie Students”) boots, colored denim, sweaters, and prints.

What's your favorite trend right now? Send me pictures of you wearing the latest trends and I’ll feature them on my blog!
