It’s Thirsty Thursday y’all! Everyone loves a good glass of wine after a long day, right? Here’s to a brilliant way to incorporate fruit and wine all in one!
1 cup of white wine
Mix ingredients together in a blender and marvel at this new creation. This drink is heavenly for all you wine lovers out there. Personally, I’d like to grab a Snuggie (yeah, I still have and use one!) and catch up on some DVR or watch a movie while I sip on this delight. So simple and you still have the rest of the bottle to down!
After sipping the wine smoothie, munchies are a necessity. The other night my boyfriend and I made a delicious appetizer to accompany our wine cocktail and precede our steak dinner, Bacon Shrimp Jalapeno Boats.
Bacon Shrimp Jalapeno Boats
2 large jalapenos
1 package of cream cheese
Fresh cooked shrimp
A few strips of peppered bacon
My mouth is watering at the thought of these babies! Cut the jalapenos in half and remove all seeds and insides to resemble a little boat. Add as much cream cheese as you’d like to fill your jalapeno boat, since we aren’t huge fans so we used a little less. Top with 3-4 shrimps depending on the size of your jalapeno and wrap the filled boat with peppered bacon using toothpicks to keep in place. We threw these on the grill, but if you don’t have that option you can put them in the oven for 17 – 20 minutes at 400 or until the bacon is cooked to your liking. You can easily alter to recipe depending on how many you plan on serving.
I got a little excited about the dinner and forgot to photograph the finished appetizer in all its glory, but I added one to my plate that can be seen in the picture above at the bottom right. So good, y’all! Until next time, stay thirsty!
