Thirsty Thursday time, y’all! With Valentine’s just a week away, I know y’all are all trying to figure out what to prepare for your significant other. Ladies if you really want to impress, serve your man some Jack and Coke slushies and a mouthwatering dessert!
Jack & Coke Slush
2 (12 oz) cans of Coke
6 oz frozen limeade concentrate
6 oz Jack Daniels
Throw all the ingredients into the blender and mix together well. Put the mixture in the freezer, stirring occasionally until it’s the perfect slush consistency. Nice little twist on the regular, but always legit, whiskey coke drink!
Usually I share some type of appetizer with y’all, but this is Valentine’s Day preparation. You have to mix it up, keep it fresh and exciting for your boy toy. So why not combine the Thirsty part with some sweet munchies? Drum roll please… Jack Daniels Chocolate Cupcakes are coming your way!
Jack Daniel Chocolate Cupcakes
2 cups flour
¾ cup cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1tsp kosher salt
½ cup super strong coffee
½ cup Jack Daniels whiskey
1 cup buttermilk
½ cup veggie oil
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, stir in the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, combine the eggs, coffee, whiskey, buttermilk and oil and then add to your flour mixture in the larger bowl and whisk until smooth. Pour the mix into prepared cupcake cups to about halfway. Bake for 18 – 20 minutes and let cool! Now for the homemade Jack Daniels Frosting!
Dark Chocolate Whiskey Ganache
16 oz dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
¾ cup heavy cream
2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
¼ cup Jack Daniels Whiskey
Put the chopped chocolate into a heat safe bowl and set aside. Heat the heavy cream until just boiling and pour over the chocolate. Cover for 2 minutes to allow chocolate to soften before whisking smooth. Stir in the butter then whiskey until completely mixed. On to the buttercream...
Dark Chocolate Whiskey Buttercream
1 lb unsalted butter, softened
1 (3 oz) package white chocolate/vanilla/or cheesecake pudding mix
2 cups of the prepared Dark Chocolate Whiskey Ganache
½ cup sifted dark cocoa powder
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup powdered sugar
Whiskey to taste
Mix the butter and pudding together on medium speed for about 5 minutes with your mixer. Add in the ganache, cocoa powder, and heavy cream before mixing for another 5 minutes. Continue adding tablespoon by tablespoon until you are satisfied with the whiskey taste. Add the frosting to your delicious cupcake and watch your man’s jaw fall to the floor! He’ll easily want to devour both you and the cupcake instantaneously.
Ridiculously good combo, am I wrong? Any man in your life will appreciate these goodies. Stay tuned next week for some more Valentine’s Day recipes! Enjoy the week y’all!
