Covering Problem Areas

I wrote a blog two weeks ago giving some tips on how to clear up acne. Sometimes, you just can’t get rid of them all. I’ve got a couple makeup tips that will make those problem areas less obvious.

Eye drops that relieve red eyes are a life saver! They help reduce redness on both pimples and red splotches. Just put a drop on your finger and apply as necessary. It’s amazing how well it works!

If you’re worried about covering areas of your face all day and want clearer skin, try using a foundation primer. The primer will put a layer between your skin and the makeup that clogs your pores. It also makes the concealer/foundation/powder you’re applying hold on much longer. If you’re not sold on the idea, get a sample from a store and apply it to half of your face. Trust me, you’ll see a difference.

I would also consider purchasing a green powder if you have a lot of redness in your face. Apply the green powder after the primer and before the concealer. The green balances out the red and gives you a better surface to work off of.

Purchase a concealer that matches your skin that is made with kaolin clay. The clay will help to dry out a pimple. Apply the concealer before the foundation so it will blend easier.

There are plenty of foundations now that offer full coverage that don’t look cakey. A liquid or a cream foundation will be best. Why? It will blend the concealer without smudging the work you did everywhere and it will last longer.

After the foundation, apply a powder to make sure that everything stays in place. You can use a translucent powder or use a powder that has more coverage. Make sure you use a powder brush to apply the finishing touches!
