March 3rd is the jackpot of National Whatever Days because today there are FOUR holidays to celebrate!
I Want You to be Happy Day
This day should be our attitude everyday. The gist of this holiday is to be selfless and do everything you can to make someone's day special
If Pets Had Thumbs Day
Other than the monkey species, our pets and animals don't typically have an opposable thumb. Our thumbs are primarily used for things like writing, holding things, driving, etc. Imagine if our pets had thumbs, they would really be able to do some cool tricks!
National Anthem Day
National Anthem Day is celebrated on March 3rd because "The Star Spangled Banner," written by Francis Scott Key, became the national anthem for the United States on March 3, 1931 as it was signed by President Herbert Hoover. From this song, the motto "In God We Trust" became the national motto in 1956.
Peach Blossom Day
The blossoming peach flower is the signal of Spring in Vietnam and peach bonsai trees are used as decoration during Vietnamese New Year (Tết) in Northern Vietnam.
Peach blossoms are highly prized in Chinese culture and because they appear before a single leaf has sprouted, the ancient Chinese believed the peach to possess more vitality than any other tree. When early rulers of China visited their territories they were preceded by sorcerers armed with peach rods to protect them from spectral evils. On the last day of the year local magistrates would cut peach wood branches and place them over their doors to protect against evil influences.
