New Year, New You

New Year, new you right? Of course we need new drinks to go accompany all this. Starting this year off with a detox water recipe to aid in the renewing!

Detox Water
1 cucumber
1 lemon
10 – 12 mint leaves

Slice up the cucumber and lemon and add them into a pitcher. Next toss in about ten to twelve mint leaves and fill the pitcher completely with water. Allow to sit in the fridge overnight so all the juices and flavors infuse the water before enjoying.

I drink my detox water every morning to start my day off right. The various ingredients all work to cleanse and renew your system. Water of course is beyond good for you and helps to flush toxins through our system. Plus this recipe counts towards any the amount of water you are supposed to drink daily too! Cucumber works to rehydrate your system and contains anti-inflammatory as well as antioxidant properties. The lemon works to stimulate and regulate the digestive system and encourage the flow of bile produced by the liver to break down fats consumed. Lastly, the mint, which aids in digesting, is a plain refreshing ingredient to this yummy drink.

Try it out and see how your body benefits from a little detox! Trust me, just because it is a “detox” water does not mean you need to be terrified of trying it. See it as special healthy water instead. Enjoy y’all!
