When I think the of the word stain, I (and many others I’m sure) think of the word permanent as well. Trying to get rid of stains is never fun, and for most of us seems like a continuous game of experimenting. When one product doesn’t work we move on to the next one, and when that one doesn’t work we try another. All of those fancy-smancy “magical” stain removing products, normally don’t turn out so magical for me and can get pretty pricey. One of the toughest stains I’ve had problems with in the past has been ink.
Ink can be one of the harshest stains around. Yet at the same time one of the most common as well. Everyone uses pens, and most of us use them very frequently. So what do we do when we get ink on our hands and fingers then touch clothes, towels or other fabrics? Or what if a pen we are using explodes all over us? Luckily there are two easy solutions!
What You’ll Need:
Solution 1- Hairspray; I used Sebastian Professional Shaper hairspray because that is what I had in my cabinet. Any hairspray will do.
Solution 2- Hand sanitizer; I used Purell Avanced with Aloe again because it’s what I had laying around.
Directions: In the picture on the left I used hairspray on the ink. Spray the hairspray directly onto the ink, and don’t be afraid to be very generous. The picture on the right I applied an again generous amount of hand sanitizer to the stain.
For both cases make sure to rub in either the hairspray and hand sanitizer as good as you can.
Let whichever product you used sit for about ten minutes. Then throw it into the washing machine, and make sure set the wash temperature to hot.
When you take your garment or towel out the ink will be completely gone. Just like that! No fuss whatsoever.
Finally no more need for experimenting with every product in the cleaning aisle! At least when it comes to ink we can now get rid of those stubborn stains quickly and easily without ever having to leave the comfort of our own homes.
