Summer may not officially be here yet but Lord knows the heat has arrived which means pool time! These recipes are perfect for a long day on the water no matter how many people join the fun.
4 cold light beers (Miller Lite or Bud Light works great!)
1 can of frozen pink lemonade concentrate
1 empty lemonade can’s worth of vodka
Pour the lemonade concentrate into the pitcher and then fill the empty can with the vodka and add as well. Add the four cold beers in, remove the foam and stir. The great thing about this recipe is you can easily make more if you have a bigger crowd! You can also turn this recipe into a Mexican Summer Beer by switching out the light beers for Dos XX or Corona and frozen limeade concentrate instead of lemonade. Perfection!
6 oz vodka
3 oz coconut rum
3 oz blue Curacao
3 oz sour mix
6 oz pineapple juice
9 oz Sprite
Add all ingredients to a pitcher or fish bowl if you really want to go for it, mix and enjoy. This recipe may leave you actually thinking you’re a fish with the alcohol content but it’s so good. Serves 4 so pour it up and head out to the water!
Tequila Strawberry Lemonade
3 pints fresh strawberries
½ cup strawberry jam
½ cup sugar
15 lemons (about 5 cups of lemon juice)
¼ cup Grand Marnier
1 ½ cups tequila
Cut the strawberries in half and cover with the sugar, jam and juice of one lemon and allow to sit overnight to create a syrup like mixture. After it marinates together, add about three cups of lemon juice and taste to see if it’s to your liking, if not add more. Remember the tequila will calm the sugar down! Add in the tequila and you’re done! A couple of extra steps but perfect for a big group as it serves about 12.
We all know throwing beer in a cooler is the norm but bring these drinks poolside and you’ll be where the real party is at. Cheers y’all!
