March is National Nutrition Month! And since it is the beginning of March, I figured I could make readers aware of how important it is to have your daily nutrients amount to their individual necessary levels.
Recently, I was involved in a project which required participants to log each meal consumed for a consecutive three days. This involved determining the nutrients of the foods that were consumed. At the end of the three days, we examined the amount of nutrients we were receiving on a daily basis in comparison to the amount of nutrients that were considered to be healthy on a daily basis. As it was a pain to track the amount of calories, sodium, protein, carbohydrates, etc. in all of the foods that I ate throughout the day, it was a very eye opening experience to see what my diet was lacking, and also what I could use a little bit less of.
You may ask: How am I supposed to keep track of all of that information while on the go? It's easy! There's an App for that (of course)! The program that I used was available in the App Store on my iPhone. It is called: MyNetDiary. The best part about it is that it is free! So test this out whenever you get a chance! Have a happy National Nutrition Month!
