Tricks for All Those Treats!

Find yourself coming up with nonsense reasons to walk back by that bowl of Halloween candy and sneak just one more piece? I mean, how could you not? Those brightly wrapped sweet treats just beckon you in to enjoy their sugary goodness (even as I'm writing this, I can hear the Kit-Kat song playing in my head). And you know what, it's OK, eat one or two, just don't go crazy. Snacking on these fun-sized treats actually can help prevent sugar cravings without making you intake large quantities of calories. For example, a normal sized Kit-Kat bar (OK so I'm obsessing right now) contains 218 calories and 20 grams of sugar, while a fun-sized Kit-Kat bar contains only 70 calories and 7 grams of sugar. It can still give you that kick of sugar and satisfy your craving, but doesn't give you your recommended daily sugar intake in one candy bar!

But if you do cave into temptation and eat half the bowl (which, let's face it, we all have at some point), here is a fun workout that works all of your muscles while still involving some Cardio work. The best part: it only takes about half an hour and burns about 300 calories (based on a 150lb woman).

100 Jumping Jacks
15 Push-ups
1 Minute of Crunches
Run for 10 minutes
Rest for a minute and DRINK WATER!

Jump rope for 2 minutes straight (the faster you go, the more you will burn!)

15 Push-ups
50 Jumping Jacks
2 minutes in plank position
Run for 10 minutes

Make sure to stretch before and after, as well as drink lots of water!
