Posted: 10:11 AM Let’s get to 3 Up 3 Down!
Updated: 10:00 AM It’s hard to describe what went through my mind as I watched the coverage of the tragedy at the Boston Marathon on Patriot’s Day. I was 10 years old when the September 11 attacks occurred, old enough to know what happened and understand it was bad, but not old enough to fully grasp the enormity and aftereffects of the attacks on not only the United States, but also the world.
Posted: 9:29 AM Let’s play a game. I’m going to list, in order, all of a certain player on the Astros’ at-bats, and you see if you can tell me which player you think it is.
Posted: 8:25 AM As I drove down to Minute Maid Park in rainy Houston on Sunday night for the inaugural game of the 2013 baseball season, I had a knot in my stomach. I kept thinking to myself things like “What if the Astros lose 21-0?"
Posted: 9:18 AM Baseball season is a mere 224 hours away (as of 3/28 at 11am), and my excitement has started to turn into worry. Not “oh no, what if we don’t win the World Series” worry.
Updated: 4:58 PM Today, I’m going to stay unbiased and go over which players I think have the best chance to win, then we’ll talk about some players that Vegas considers long-shots but I think have a realistic chance to win with great payouts.
Posted: 9:20 AM The countdown continues - only 17 Days until Opening Night in Houston!
Posted: 9:22 AM I could become a Rangers fan or move to Chicago or New York and become a fan of one of those teams, but no matter what I do, how many games I go to or how many championships they win, they will never mean as much to me as the Astros do.
Updated: 4:48 PM Not that it was every really cold down here in south Texas, but the sun is peaking out more than usual and it’s finally starting to feel like baseball season. Spring training games are officially underway and the Rangers are in last place in all of baseball!
Updated: 5:00 PM The AL East has historically been one of the most competitive divisions in baseball, because this division is so competitive, whichever team comes out as the champion usually has the depth and pitching to give itself a good shot to win the World Series. Let’s get to the predictions!
Updated: 8:51 PM Today we’ll take a look at the NL West, a division that boasts the highest single team payroll in baseball, and the reigning World Series Champion.
Updated: 5:13 PM The bad news is that we’re a full 6 months away from football starting up again, but on the bright side, baseball is right around the corner!
Updated: 5:01 PM As excited as I am for baseball season to start, I’m equally excited that I get to discuss football for one more week! Next week I’ll get back to baseball but for now, let’s look at the Super Bowl.
Updated: 9:04 AM I’m always a little depressed after the Conference Championship weekend because I know that there is only 1 game left in the NFL season, but then I remember that my first love in this world, baseball, is right around the corner!
Updated: 1:59 PM If you had told me last week that the Conference Championship games are going to be put onto the backburner this week because not one, but two big sports-related scandals would be revealed and would take precedence, I would have thought they would be stories that I actually cared about.
Posted: 10:07 AM Not only did all of the favorites win last week, but they all covered too. That means that if you one of my millions of readers AND are betting against all of my picks, you went 3-1 and probably made a lot of money – congratulations!
Posted: 1:10 PM Well, unfortunately my “Joe Namath-esque” guarantee that I would bring my record back to .500 by the end of the season fell a little short. Like the Chicago Bears, I started off hot and had a midseason collapse that left me on the outside looking in come playoff time.
Posted: 9:09 AM It all comes down to this week! The AFC playoff teams have all been decided, the only thing left to figure out is the seeding.
Posted: 10:25 AM Well, the bad news from last week is that the Texans laid a dud in Foxboro on Monday Night Football last week, but on the bright side, I’m done with finals and officially a second semester senior! In celebration, I’m headed out of town for a couple of days and didn’t have time to look at the game lines, but I thought I would enlighten my faithful readers with some straight up picks before I left (winning team in bold).
Posted: 10:31 AM The semester may be winding down but the playoff races are just heating up!
Posted: 9:10 AM Things are slowly turning around. After another +.500 week that saw the Texans squeak out a nail biter that all but eliminated the Lions from the playoffs, and the Cowboys disappoint all of their fans again, the playoff picture is finally starting to clear up.
Posted: 2:41 PM It looks like things might finally be turning around for me! After a solid 10-4 week last week that saw the Texans win at Chicago on Sunday night, the Ravens demolish the Raiders, and even the Cowboys pull out a solid road win, I’ve got some momentum.
Posted: 9:07 AM There was some good news from last week and some bad news from last week: The good news is that almost all of my reasoning played out correctly and most of the games ended like I predicted they would.
Updated: 4:21 PM Last week didn’t go quite as poorly as the week before, but it wasn’t far behind. And now that baseball is officially over, (148 days until Opening Day 2013!) I don’t have an excuse for not properly researching the games every week
