This week's App of the Week is something that is very helpful to me personally. I have hosted foreign exchange students in the past and I've been to Europe three times. I have met many true friends, that, without this app, I would not be able to communicate with them as often as I do my friends here in the States.
This app that I'm talking about is called WhatsApp Messenger. This app works to allow you to text your friends from across the pond (or right here in the USA) for free! This app utilizes push notifications just like your regular text messaging platform. There are no data limits, so you could send 3 million text messages to your European stud and not get slammed with any fees. All you need is Wifi and a smartphone.
If by chance, you meet a group of studs from England while you were there, you can even group text them to find out which one you like the best. I use this app everyday texting my best friend from the Netherlands. I also use it occasionally to text my hip 14 year old cousin who prefers WhatsApp over text messaging because her mom doesn't know to check the app when snooping on her phone. Aahh, don't you just love teenage secrecy? Anyway, like I said earlier, this app is FREE, and it could lead to a life long friendship with a fancy European hipster who would have otherwise forgotten about you as your train left the station. You can thank me later when you receive your European passport in the mail after you marry your Eurostud and have lots of Eurostud babies.
Until Next Week,
