College Station Utilities is one of only four public power utilities in Texas to earn recognition from the American Public Power Association for providing the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service.
The 2013 Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) award recognizes utilities for reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. A total of 184 public utilities across the nation received the commendation on Monday at the APPA’s annual Engineering and Operations Technical Conference in Kissimmee, Fla. The other Texas utilities recognized are in Austin, Garland and Denton.
“Receiving the RP3 designation means a lot to us,” said Timothy Crabb, Director of Electric Utilities. “It’s an honor to be recognized on a national level for the work we are doing locally in College Station.”
