Imagine coming face to face with a 12 ft., 400 pound alligator! That's exactly what happened for the Dixon family on Saturday.

Iola resident James Dixon and his 5-year-old son, Wesley, found the gator in Bedias Creek in northern Grimes County.

The Dixon family had the alligator skinned and mounted.

Along with having a couple family photos taken with the gator, they plan on eating the alligator meat with friends.
