WASHINGTON (AP) - Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee told the crowd at Michael Jackson's memorial that she planned to honor him with a House resolution. She may have trouble fulfilling that promise. Representative Peter King has promised to do whatever he can to oppose the resolution. King is the congressman who called Jackson a "pervert, child molester, pedophile" in a now infamous YouTube video. The resolution is before the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

If you want to bestow an honor on a person, do it while they are still alive. Not that I would advocate honoring a singer, when there are thousands of men and women serving in the armed forces that are far more deserving of a "House resolution".

I think Sheila Jackson Lee forgets who pays her salary...the taxpayers as in you and I. Considering the state of our economy, I would think she would be in Washington or her home district doing her job which does NOT include trying to get a resolution passed to honor an admitted drug addict who illegally paid whomever and whatever to get his drugs. Also, he has admitted, in an interview, of letting young boys sleep with him in his bed. How disgusting that a man of that age would allow strangers (boys) to share his bed! He certainly is NOT a role model. How disgusting and sad that SJL would spend her time on a resolution when so many Americans are losing jobs, homes, etc. and having a very difficult time in this economy. She should be spending her time introducing bills that will move our economy forward!!! Also, did she use taxpayer money to fly to Calif., stay at a nice hotel, dine at fine places and probably had a limo? She needs to be voted out of office!
