WASHINGTON (November 19, 2009)-Two weeks after the fatal series of events at Fort Hood, Capitol Hill is gearing up to for the first hearing on the Nov. 5 shootings at the Central Texas Army Post.
The Senate Homeland Security Committee will look at the threat posed by homegrown terrorism.
Chairman Joe Lieberman says the committee also wants to know whether the shooting was the result of intelligence failures.
Lawmakers say they are concerned that federal agencies may not be sharing intelligence information.
Lieberman and the panel's top Republican, Susan Collins, say the congressional probe would not get in the way of other ongoing investigations.

My husband is serving in Iraq. This is an outrage that this occured! He is a Major in the UNITED STATES MILITARY!!! He was crying out for help and he was ignored. I feel that this was a sensless crime that could of been prevented and both the military and Major Hasan should be held responsible for this!
