Mark Conlee is seeking the Republican nomination for Brazos County judge. Wednesday morning, he talked about his campaign for this March primary on the only local morning television newscast.
Conlee was the latest of 15 candidates who will appear throughout February on Brazos Valley This Morning. His opponents for the Republican nomination are Brian Alg, Duane Peters and Ernie Wentrcek. Wentrcek and Alg joined the show earlier in the week, and Peters will appear Thursday.
The current judge, Randy Sims, is not running for re-election. There are no Democrats running for this office, though an independent, Doug O'Brien, has announced he is running.
Conlee discussed his reasons for running for a different elected office, his thoughts on the biggest issues facing the county, tax increment financing as a tool to attract business, and the Brazos County Expo.
Bryan's mayor also answered questions after the on-air segment for the morning show's Facebook and YouTube sites. That video is available below. Become a fan of BVTM on Facebook for exclusive behind the scenes content and updates.
