The candidates for Brazos County district attorney are in the home stretch of their race, and they are appearing on First News at Four this week.
A field of four Republicans was narrowed down to two in May when prosecutor Jarvis Parsons finished first with 48 percent, and David Hilburn made it to the runoff with 22 percent.
No Democrat is running for the office, meaning the winner of Tuesday's GOP runoff is all-but-assured of becoming the next DA. That person will replace the retiring Bill Turner.
Right now, Hilburn is a local defense attorney, but prior to that, he served as a prosecutor in both Brazos and Harris Counties. He graduated from Texas A&M and the South Texas College of Law. It is his first run for political office.
Friday on First News at Four, Parsons will be live in studio to discuss his campaign and his platform.
