Candidates Come to FN@4: Jarvis Parsons

The candidates for Brazos County district attorney are in the home stretch of their race, and they are appearing on First News at Four this week.

A field of four Republicans was narrowed down to two in May when Jarvis Parsons finished first with 48 percent, and defense attorney and former prosecutor David Hilburn made it to the runoff with 22 percent.

No Democrat is running for the office, meaning the winner of Tuesday's GOP runoff is all-but-assured of becoming the next DA. That person will replace the retiring Bill Turner.

Parsons found his way to Brazos County in 2002, and has been a prosecutor in the DA's office. Parsons graduated from McNeese State and the University of Maine School of Law. It is his first run for political office.

Thursday on First News at Four, Hilburn appeared in studio to discuss his campaign and his platform.
