Through two days of early voting for the Texas primary, one party's vote totals are on par with the last primary. The other party's are well below.
So far, 768 votes have been cast in the Republican primary in Brazos County. That's compared to the last primary in a presidential year. There were 742 people who voted in the Republican primary in 2008.
On the Democrat side, just 72 votes have been cast so far this year, compared to 764 votes in the 2008 primary when Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were battling for the presidential nomination.
Early voting continues through May 25. Election Day is May 29. Runoffs, if necessary, would be held July 31.
