House Budgets Reveal Savings by Local Congressmen

The average budget for a member of the U.S. House was $1.45 million last year, and that will be cut by more than six percent this year. But local representatives gave back significant amounts according to a report from USA Today and the Sunlight Foundation.

Bill Flores of Bryan spent a little more than 78 percent of his office's one-point-four million dollar budget. What's left will go back to the U.S. Treasury after a two-year wait to pay off late-arriving bills.

Kevin Brady of The Woodlands spent a little more than 80 percent of his budget.

Michael McCaul of Austin spent nearly 91 percent of his.
