As part of News 3's efforts to make sure you're an informed voter for this upcoming election, all this week, we're having the candidates for Texas House District 14 on First News at Four to talk about why they want to serve.
One of the three Republicans in the running is John Raney, a longtime area resident who graduated from Texas A&M in 1969, but before he got that diploma, he started up a bookstore which he still runs today. A former chairman of the Brazos County Republican Party, he's also been a part of a number of national, state and local organizations.
Longtime Representative Fred Brown relinquished his seat because he took a job outside the district. Now, five individuals are vying to finish out his term and run again next year as the incumbent.
To listen to Raney's interview from First News at Four or to see him and the other candidates from the B/CS Chamber of Commerce's Candidates Forum from October 24, click on the attached videos.
Early Voting ends Friday. Election Day is Tuesday. Click the link on the left for more information on where and when you can vote.
