Republican candidates in the Texas U.S. Senate race will square off during The Texas Debates: Race for U.S. Senate on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 8:00 pm CDT. The live debate between Ted Cruz, former Texas Solicitor General, and Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst will be broadcast live on KBTX.com.

The debate will be moderated by KERA Managing Editor Shelley Kofler. Questions will be posed by a panel of journalists, including Crystal Ayala, political reporter for Univision Texas, Peggy Fikac, Austin bureau chief for the San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle, and Ross Ramsey, executive editor of the Texas Tribune.
