Updated: Thu 10:51 PM, Jul 21, 2011

Another person has entered the race to fill the state house seat vacated by State Representative Fred Brown of Bryan.

Republican Bob Yancy held a campaign kickoff event at his headquarters in College Station on Thursday.

The Texas A&M graduate owns a healthcare business and said he has a priority for saving taxpayers money, and reducing government debt.

Yancey says, "Government is dysfunctional right now, government has lost its way and we have massive debt at the state level, and I have a proven solution that over the course of the next several weeks and months I look forward to making my case to the voters of Brazos County. It's a solution that will reduce cost in both state spending as well as healthcare expenses as well."

Yancy joins John Raney, Rebecca Boenigk and Buddy Winn in the District 14 race.

A special election is set for November 8th.
