BRENHAM, WASHINGTON COUNTY Blinn College will host sessions in Brenham and Bryan to answer questions from potential program applicants interested in alternative teacher certification.
The TEACH (Teacher Education Alternative Certification Host) program is a cooperative effort between Blinn and the school districts in its service area to provide quality, affordable alternative teacher certification to assist in meeting area school districts’ personnel needs.
The program provides professional training for persons who hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a solid foundation in their chosen teaching areas. Two semesters of training and one full year of teaching are required for certification, and upon successful completion of the program, participants will be certified to teach in the State of Texas.

Applicants should bring a copy of their college transcripts.
The program offers the following certificates: Mathematics (Grades 7-12), Science (Grades 7-12), Life Science (Grades 7-12), Composite Science (Grades 7-12), Spanish (Grades 6-12), French (Grades 6-12), Special Education (Grades EC-12), Bilingual Generalist (Grades EC-4 and 4-8), English as a Second Language Generalist (Grades EC-6) and English/Language Arts/Reading/Social Studies (Grades 4-8).
