Welcome to Mommy Land!

First, my apologies for not posting a new blog any sooner.  Not that I think any of you have been sitting on the edge of your seats waiting for one... it's just now, Fullhart's clearly winning this rivalry!

Most of you moms reading this will be able to relate... those of you who are not moms, but hope to be someday, take note.   This is what Mommy Land looks like from my vantage point lately.

Three weeks ago, my in-laws were in town for a week.  Just before they left, we sent them off with a parting gift... the flu.  My oldest son starting feeling a little down, and then... BOOM!... 102 fever, coughing, complete misery.  Then, Super Bowl Sunday, my husband the football fan did not seem to be enjoying the big game quite the way he usually does.  Later that night we discover he's running about a 101 temp.  This is not a good sign.  So, the next day the whole family goes for flu testing, because now I'm not feeling well and my toddler is coughing.  Uh oh.  Yes, flu tests come back positive.  Everyone gets Tamiflu, which is wonderful stuff in my opinion because I never got the flu.  However, I'm the only one who was spared.  It's so horrible to watch your kids feeling so sick and not really being able to do anything for them.  It's a helpless, horrible feeling.

So, FINALLY we get that behind us.  Then I switch my focus to the school carnival.  Let me share a critical bit of information with you... DON'T MISS A PTO MEETING!!!  You see, I missed the first PTO meeting of the school year, and got drafted to head-up the carnival.  After it all played out, I ended up handling the silent auction (thanks to all who donated!!!), the food (thanks to Tap at Outback!!!), and the coffee/hot chocolate/ carmel apple cider (thanks to Phil at It's a Grind!!!).  One of our wonderful teachers took care of everything else... she'll be nominated for Teacher of the Year when the time comes!   So, after a Saturday of horrible weather, the carnival is now over.  Whew.

Now that life seems to be getting back to normal (I'll pause for moms to laugh here... we all know there's no such thing as "normal"!), I think I'll go get caught up on laundry.

Oh, what an exciting life I lead!

And, I wouldn't change it for the world!!!
