As the Aggie War hymn says, "So long to Texas University" it's going to happen. They probably should have done it a year ago, but I think pulled back because they were coming off a mediocre football season. 9 & 4 looks a lot better even though they lost to an SEC team in LSU in last season's Cotton Bowl.
The way things are playing out looks a lot like what took place in Lincoln last year. A Texas A&M Board of Regents meeting on August 22nd will either table the issue or put the move to the SEC on the fast track.
If the Regents vote and give a go ahead to peruse the SEC, it's a done deal. I'm hearing the official announcement would then come on September 1st.
Anybody who says this decision is SEC commissioner Mike Slive's to make is crazy. The SEC would love to add the state of Texas to its coverage area. A&M has a great fan base across the nation and are pretty dominate in the state, running a close second to the University of Texas.
Your comments are welcome. Just remember it's fine to disagree, just don't get ugly. "It's not a very smart idea to attack a guy who has a microphone and huge TV tower to retaliated with!"
