
Bill Read, the director of the National Hurricane Center (and an Aggie), spent Thursday at Texas A&M University speaking to various groups about the tropics and weather in general.
In addition, he took the time out -- 40 minutes to be exact -- to talk with Chief meteorologist Bob French and myself concerning this 2008 hurricane season, among other various topics.
Before heading up the 'NHC', Read was the meteorologist-in-charge -- or boss -- of the Houston/Galveston National Weather Service, which officially maintains forecasts and observations for Bryan/College Station.
