Have you ever wondered if your TV weatherman is pronouncing the name of a tropical storm correctly?
I'll be honest -- every year I cringe when I see some of the names I know I'll slip on at least once. There have been a few names I've tried to avoid altogether, using phrases like "...the powerful category 3 storm in the gulf", or "...we continue to watch the fifth-named storm of the year". The power of words (smile).
However, the National Hurricane Center is nice enough to provide a pronunciation guide! The names this year all seem to be pretty straightforward.
