New Year's Resolution

It's no surprise--saving money has become one of the top New Year's resolutions

Every year, I make the same New Year's resolutions--go to the gym everyday and say no to junk food. This year, I've told myself I will do better than last year. Plus, I do have an extra incentive--I will be wearing a wedding dress in two months.

However, this year I'll be adding another New Year's resolution, one that I bet many of you will be making too--saving money. Turns out this has become one of the top New Year's resolutions, behind losing weight and quitting smoking.

So, how do we stick to this resolution?

I recently read an article in the New York Times about how some people plan to spend less. One woman said she'll be bringing her lunch to work everyday, rather than eating out. Another person said they'll be spending more time at home with friends, rather than gathering at restaurants or bars. Then, one woman said she'll be making her coffee at home and drinking tap water rather than buying bottled water at the store.

It seems easy enough, doesn't it?

My plan is to put a little money away every month, so that my soon-to-be husband and I have something for a rainy day.

So, as we all try to stick to this new New Year's resolution, I'm curious how you will be spending less money this year. Maybe we can all help each other break the trend of breaking resolutions.

Good Luck!

Meredith
