I've never been to Washington, D.C. before. All my life I've wanted to go, but in 25 years in existance, I haven't made the time.
That changes on Monday, May 7th.
I'm traveling with the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce for their yearly trip to the capitol to talk with elected leaders about issues surrounding business in the Brazos Valley. To say I'm excited is an understatement. Tempering that excitement is nervousness, anxiety and a little fear, all of which I feel is a healthy reaction. I'm the new guy going on the trip and I have some big shoes to fill. Cody Coil, Jordan Meserole, Steve Fullhart and Joe Brown have all made this trip before me.

This year, I'd like for all of you to play a part on the trip. Each day on Brazos Valley This Morning I'll be getting you up to speed on who the Chamber is speaking too and what they're talking about. I'll also be posting poll questions on the KBTX Media Facebook page each day as well.
Like any good jounrnalist these days, I'm carrying my smartphone (a trusty HTC Inspire). I'll be tweeting and taking photos. Follow along, if you want - @TVsMichaelOder
You can keep up with the trip, stories and raw video by visiting the B/CS in DC page at KBTX.com.
