Day 4 - When's The Last Time You Did A Push up?

Updated: Thu 11:47 AM, Jan 15, 2009

Things are still chugging along and yesterday Trevor put me through the ringer! Let's just say, if you haven't done a push up in a while, it sure is hard to do.

Well Good Morning Brazos Valley!  Things are still chugging along and yesterday Trevor put me through the ringer!  Let's just say, if you haven't done a push up in a while, it sure is hard to do.  The push up.  A staple of physical fitness and a task that most people can't do.  You can include me in that group for now but not for long.

Trevor started me off with push ups against a workout bar, you see me doing them in the promo for Shaping Up With Shane.  That isn't so bad.  But yesterday, I started doing push ups off of a workout bench and my arms where shaking!  It's amazing how weak one can get after not doing something for so long but back in the day, doing 25 push ups was nothing.  Now it's worse than pushing a car!  But once again, after trying my hardest, I was able to get through the workout and today my arms feel like Jell-O.  The good news is my arms and upper body are getting stronger.  By the end of this endeavor, doing a push up should be as easy as eating a Popsicle by the same name.

The diet is going well but Trevor warned me about a fat flushing program he's going to put me on next week.  More on that later.

But thanks for checking in, today is cardio day so I'll be a sweating like a mad man at Anytime Fitness this afternoon.  For now, I'm going to enjoy my fruit cup!

Good luck!

P.S. - We'll have Trevor, my trainer from Innovative Fitness, on BVTM Friday morning giving tips on nutrition and how to calculate what your calorie intake should be.  It's great information, so be sure to tune in.
